Studio Art Lesson | Intro to Purse-making

This course gives you the materials and insight to create a purse all on your own! In this session, you’ll create a canvas tote.

Learn how to use basic leather and canvas crafting materials and use a sewing machine. Intro to purse-making helps you become a confident beginner purse maker and leather worker!

This is part of a three-lesson series. Classes are stand alone, so book one or all three.

All lessons meet in-person at 311 East Third Street, New York. Materials included.
Vaccination is required for entry.

Class Topic: Canvas Totes

Sunday, October 10
2:30-4:30PM

In this lesson, we will learn how to make a basic tote bag. This will involve minimum sewing (we will help of course!) and lots of creativity! This material is conducive to painting, so feel free to stick around after to paint in patterns or designs.

Madeline Gough

Madeline is a purse and footwear designer based in Brooklyn. She earned her Bachelors in Strategic Design and Management from Parsons School of Design. She runs her own purse company and centers her artistic practice around design and textiles. Madeline instructs ArtsClub corporate events and the Sunday Deep Dive Lesson, Creating Purses.
