Studio Night | Helen Frankenthaler

  • 311 East 3rd Street New York, NY, 10009 United States (map)

Helen Frankenthaler was an American Abstract Expressionist painter best known for her “soak stain” paintings, which she created by diluting her paint and soaking it into unprimed canvas. Like Jackson Pollock, Frankenthaler didn't use brushes, but rather poured her paint onto the canvas and used sponges to move it around. The result was a calming field of liquid-like color.

Learn about Helen Frankenthaler and create your own calming soak stain paintings. Art supplies, instruction & wine are included.

For this event, we will also be welcoming our friends at Women of Culture, a community designed to connect, empower and inspire women through engagement with the arts.

To keep everyone safe, we’re requiring vaccination and limiting this event to 20 participants so that everyone has plenty of room to spread out. Masks are required when walking around the venue, but not when sitting at your table or drinking wine.
