Hands-On Art History | Pablo Picasso

  • 311 East 3rd Street New York, NY, 10009 United States (map)

In ArtsClub’s Hands-On Art History Series, you’ll learn about iconic artists and create your own work inspired by their styles!

Learn about the portraits Picasso painted of the people that inspired him. Then, with guidance from professional artists, paint a portrait of yourself -- or your partner -- inspired by the portraits of Pablo Picasso!

All art materials are included in the ticket price. Food and beverages are available for purchase on-site. Please note that proof of vaccination is required to attend. Tickets are on sale for a limited time to celebrate the recent opening of ArtsClub in the East Village.

Here’s the agenda:

4:30-5:00PM: Settle in and meet the other participants

5-5:30PM: Learn about Picasso’s portraits, his inspiration and his painting techniques

5:30-6:30PM: Paint your own portrait of yourself or your partner, using inspiration from the lesson. ArtsClub’s team of professional artists will guide you through the process.

6:30-7PM: Hang for a bit while your paintings dry so that you can take them home.

Here are a few of the portraits we discuss in our lesson on Picasso:

Here are some creations from previous ArtsClub lessons on Picasso’s portraiture style:
