Dive into the world of visual art and language in this engaging, beginner-friendly workshop inspired by the iconic work of artist Barbara Kruger. This session will take place at Arlo Midtown.

Famous for her bold, graphic compositions that combine striking imagery with powerful text, Kruger’s art challenges societal norms and explores themes of identity, power, and consumer culture. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to use imagery and text to create art that makes a statement and engages viewers on a deeper level.

Throughout this event, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with combining visual elements and typography to produce your own compelling works of art. Whether you choose to critique social issues, explore personal identity, or simply express your creativity, you’ll discover how to harness the power of words and images to communicate a message.

All art materials are provided including a 9x12 canvas, acrylic paint, and coveralls or smocks to protect your clothing.
