Robert Rauschenberg is an American artist known for his iconic “combines” – hybrid sculptural paintings that challenged the abstract expressionist movement of the 1950s. Rauschenberg often used found materials in his works, from the blankets off his bed to tires in the street! During this event, you’ll learn about the inspiration behind Rauschenberg’s works and the processes he used to create them. Then, using similar materials and techniques, you’ll create your own “combine” inspired by Robert Rauschenberg!
Ticket includes art history lesson and all art materials. Coveralls/ smocks will be provided to protect your clothing.
