Yayoi Kusama: Painting with Acrylics

“Art should be something that liberates your soul, provokes the imagination, and encourages people to go further"

- Yayoi Kusama

During this event, you’ll learn about the art of Yayoi Kusama, the renowned avant-garde artist celebrated for her vibrant polka dots, bold colors, and mesmerizing exploration of themes like repetition, nature, and infinity. Kusama’s paintings often blur the lines between the microscopic and the cosmic, immersing viewers in a seemingly endless array of dots and patterns that evoke a sense of wonder and boundlessness.

Following a brief art history lesson, you’ll create your own Kusama-inspired artwork, incorporating her recurring motifs of dots, organic shapes, and infinite patterns.

All art materials are provided including a 9x12 canvas, acrylic paint, and coveralls or smocks to protect your clothing.
