Dupont Studio Session | Joan Miró

  • ArtsClub DC 1506 19th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20036 United States (map)

"For me, a painting must give off sparks. It must dazzle like the beauty of a woman or a poem." - Joan Miró

Step into a world of playful imagination and vibrant abstraction in this art workshop inspired by the visionary work of Joan Miró

Known for his joyful use of color, organic shapes, and whimsical symbols, Miró’s art invites us to embrace spontaneity, dreamlike imagery, and the childlike freedom of expression.

After a brief lecture on the life and work of Miro, participants will incorporate a series of guided exercises to help them experiment with surrealist techniques of art making, including such as automatism (drawing without conscious thought), vibrant color combinations, and the incorporation of personal symbols to tell a story or express a feeling.

Ticket includes lesson and all art materials (including a 9x12 inch canvas). Coveralls/ smocks will be provided to protect your clothing.
