Dupont Studio Session | Bridget Riley

  • ArtsClub DC 1506 19th Street Northwest, 4th Floor Washington, DC, 20036 United States (map)

“There was a time when meanings were focused and reality could be fixed; when that sort of belief disappeared, things became uncertain and open to interpretation.” - Bridget Riley

Bridget Riley is a leading figure in the Op Art movement, renowned for her mesmerizing visual illusions. Emerging in the 1960s, Riley's work uses high-contrast colors, precise shapes, and repeated patterns to create dynamic effects that challenge how we perceive shapes and colors. Her art demonstrates how simple designs can produce complex, shifting illusions. During this lesson, we’ll dive into Bridget Riley's iconic pieces and create our own Op Art inspired by her mastery of geometric shapes and patterns to evoke movement and depth.

Tickets include an art history lesson and all materials.
