Dupont Studio Session | Vincent Van Gogh Flowers

  • ArtsClub DC 1506 19th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20036 United States (map)

“How right it is to love flowers and the greenery of pines and ivy and hawthorn hedges; they have been with us from the very beginning.” - Vincent van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch post-impressionist painter who used thick brushwork and dreamlike colors to create beautiful imaginative paintings. He also tended towards classic stills like flowers arranged on a table. In this lesson we will help you achieve his thick, impasto brushwork to create a depiction of flowers that maintains a fantastical and dreamlike quality.

Ticket includes lesson and all art materials (including a 9x12 inch canvas). Coveralls/ smocks will be provided to protect your clothing. We’ll be working with acrylic paint and paint thickening mediums on canvas.
