  • ArtsClub DC 1506 19th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20036 United States (map)

Discover the games and techniques the Surrealists used to find inspiration and create dream-like paintings.

Joan Miró, Maravillas #1061, 1975

In 1920s Paris, the Surrealist artists invented a series of games designed to help them access their unconscious minds and expand their imaginations. Learn about French Surrealism and the creative games used by its members, like Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró and Max Ernst. Then, use their techniques (including collage and Exquisite Corpse) to unearth subconscious inspiration you can harness into your own Surrealist artwork.

Tickets include lesson, all art materials and coveralls to protect your clothing.
